Primary 3

Monday 22nd June

End of term celebration!

We’ve made it to the end of term, well done! It feels very strange not to be celebrating this with you, sharing together the things we have enjoyed doing, having a laugh over our funny moments and preparing to move on to Primary 4. You have all achieved so much over the last year, especially in the past few months and should be so proud of how you have handled everything. So you deserve a week of celebration! It’s up to you to plan your celebration party – but please do send in some pics of what you do, and I’ll be celebrating with you in spirit!

Have fun, smile and celebrate in style! You have been an absolutely fantastic class and deserve a wonderful summer.

Lots of love, Mrs Allen-Austin (and Mrs Austin who is now on maternity leave!) xxxP3 Home learning 22nd June 1P3 Home learning 22nd June 2

This week we are off for a virtual trip to a zoo!

I hope that you enjoyed your creative week last week, it’s been great to see your art work. Don’t forget to send us your pictures of ‘the view from my window’ for our special Pirniehall Art video – we’d love to have a piece of artwork from each pupil.

Well done to those who completed the Sumdog challenge this week: Sandra
Gabriel, Patryk, Alexander, Denisa, Lucia, Arianna, Nevaeh.

This week we would’ve had our end of year trip, so instead it’s time for a virtual trip to a zoo! I wonder which zoo you will choose to visit? Have fun planning, exploring and learning!

We know that you are such a creative bunch and we can’t wait to see your wonderful art work. Over the week you will create different art works so that by the end of the week you will have your own mini art gallery.

There are lots of art galleries that you can explore online and you can find links to a couple of them below the grid.

Have fun, keep smiling and enjoy a week of creativity!

This week’s challenge is to hold your own sports day!

Wow, what wonderful weather we have been having! We hope that you’ve been able to be outside enjoying it. We hope too that your quiz nights went well, we would love to see some photos or hear how they went.

This week is Sports Day! Below are 2 grids for the week. One grid has all of your sports day activities and the other has some related tasks. Choose a day you will have your sports day and with other members of your family organise and prepare for the event – think about the equipment and space you will need. As always there is also a Sumdog challenge for you, try and play a little each day.

It was lovely to see some of you on Tuesday, don’t forget that you can pick up books, jotters, pencils and some work from the trolley which is outside school Tuesday and Friday 12-1pm.

Have fun with your sports day and don’t forget to send us photos!

Monday 25th May. It’s Quiz Week!

Happy Monday Primary3! We hope that you’ve had a good week, enjoyed some sun and stayed safe in the wind. We’ve loved seeing the pictures of your movie nights that you’ve sent in on Facebook.

Your challenge this week is to plan and host a quiz night for your family. Use your good research skills to make your questions, use your writing skills to list your rules, use your listening and talking skills to host your quiz, but above all, HAVE FUN!

We look forward to seeing what your questions are so send them in to us on the Facebook page. If we get enough we might put them together to make a mini quiz of our own for you all!

Good luck and have fun!

P3 Movie Week!

It’s cinema week in P3 and it’s your job to make sure it happens! So, it’s time to choose a film to watch at the end of the week and then get planning. Your tasks this week will let you practise lots of different skills – planning, designing, organising as well as literacy and numeracy. We look forward to seeing your posters so please send us pictures on Facebook, and we look forward to hearing your film choices too!

We are seeing more of you on Sumdog and Epic which is great and we want to give an extra special shout out to those of you completing challenges or spending lots of time reading books. Well done to: Sophie-Jane, Arianna, Alexander, Mason, Gabriel, Sandra, Franek and Patryk.

We hope that you have fun this week! Missing you lots.

Well done to all of you who are completing tasks on the home learning grid! It has been lovely this week to hear how you are getting on and we are really proud of how well you are all doing.

Well done to Gabriel and Arianna who managed to complete the Sumdog challenge and also well done to Mason and Patryk who made a really good effort with it. This week you have a money challenge (there’s fewer questions than last week, so hopefully more of us will complete it!). Keep playing the other games on Sumdog too – it takes it a while to work out the correct level for you.

We’ve seen that some of you have managed to log on to Epic and explore some books – well done to Gabriel, Maci-Leigh, Patryk, Sandra and Arianna.

Keep up the good work, we are really proud of all that you are doing. As ever send any work or pictures of what you’ve been doing to the Facebook page, we love to see what you’re doing.

Miss all your smiling faces,

Love Mrs Allen-Austin and Mrs Austin xx

Hello Primary 3!

We hope that you are keeping well in these strange times, we are thinking of you lots.

We hope that you enjoyed making your rainbows last week and have put them in your windows to bring a smile to people’s faces. Have you been on a rainbow-hunt where you live? If not, go for your daily walk and see how many you can spot. Tilly and Mrs Allen-Austin spotted 27 on their walk yesterday. Find your new window challenge below!

Good luck with this week’s work. Remember to take care of yourselves and those you live with. Be kind to yourselves and each other, have fun and do something each day that you enjoy.

P3 Learning Grid 23rd March

In P3 we have been learning the three times tables. We have been singing songs about it, we can write them down on a sheet, we can use tally marks to show groups of 3, we can show them as repeated addition (3 + 3 + 3), we can use the times/multiply symbol and we can draw it as an array.

We have been learning French. We have been singing songs about french colours. We’ve been learning to say hi, bye, stand up, sit down and colours. We’ve also been counting in french up to 20.

In our topic we have been capsized on a desert island. We’ve been working as a team to make our own shelters, maps, rules and we’ve traded items with other groups.
