P6/7 are currently working on natural disasters in Social Studies. They are just finishing the spectacular novel of Varjak Paw by SF said. P6/7 are also going to be starting division in Maths.
P6/7 are learning about natural disasters including how earthquakes work and how volcanoes erupt. We have been using search engines on the iPad’s to find out information about different natural disasters. We are also working hard in Literacy, identifying nouns and proper nouns. This term in Maths we are learning how to divide big numbers.
This term in Literacy we are learning about similes and metaphors. Similes are used to describe things that are the same and metaphors are a figure of speech. In writing we are learning how to write formal letters. Today we wrote a letter to Keith Cook after watching a video about him (Role Models, Keith Cook).
In Maths we are learning about fractions. We have been calculating proper and improper fractions. We have also been learning how to work out an average.
We are excited to start our new topic on WWII.
